Solution

With a shoe-string budget, there was no room for photo shoots or illustration. So we relied on a strong message and simple visual to tell the story. Our approach was to remind people that no matter how bad a situation may seem, there is always hope. There is light within us all that keeps us going—keeps us from giving up. So from a donor perspective, they would be much more willing to give money if they felt it wasn't "going to waste" on those who may have already given up hope on themselves. Donations more than doubled as a result of this campaign, and VOA was able to fund their new Service & Support Center in downtown Denver.

Challenge

Every year is a struggle to raise enough cash donations that lend a hand to the less fortunate. VOA has varying services and audiences, and they need to speak to them all. Create a unified campaign that's simple, powerful, and tells a story. Maximize the impact during the gift-giving time of year.
